March Madness

"I was too busy to blog"...."The dog ate my blogwork"...
I'm not sure how to get out of this one...
I just didn't blog-Okay!
Now that that's out of the way...here is what we did this month. At least the condensed version.

Ellianah had her FIRST ponytail...isn't it adorable? I just smiled and smiled every time I looked at her. Some days I still can't believe I have a girl...

Patrick wanted me to take a picture of him with our snake, Indy...snakes are easy pets, if you don't have one, get one!

My sweet little guy...he just says the cutest things...too bad I can't remember any of them. Oh well- such is the life of the 3rd born...

After working on the yard A LOT this month we decided to actually enjoy it! We dusted off the fire pit and roasted some marshmallows(Patrick's FAVORITE thing to do)...can't wait for camping next month!

I love this picture of Ellie...she is getting to the stage where she isn't being exactly "patient" with having her picture taken....so this is a rare captured shot where she is actually smiling AND looking at the camera...

This happens every spring, it's kinda a tradition now...the first string of warm weather days and the boys dust off their swim suits and decide to go swimming. They don't stay in for long....:) This year Nicholas was the brave one that took the plunge...then jumped out faster than he jumped in!

If he looks tired and slightly irritated it's because he just finished planting 23 new bushes/vines, fixed a few sprinklers, and repaired landscape lighting...Sheesh- I don't know what HIS problem is...:)

The kids have been wanting to go to Monterey...and Patrick especially wanted to go to Dennis the Menace Park. So this month we made the time. Christian and Nicholas were craving a treat at a little bakery we go to in Carmel, so we did that, too. Beautiful drive....

The boys could not get enough of the tidepools...the found shrimp, gobies, crabs, fish and fun...if only I had one in my backyard, it could entertain them for hours.

I don't know why, but Ellie was fascinated by this rock...she wanted to move it, but couldn't get it to even budge...

On the 26th we took a field trip with our homeschool co-op to Hanford...a little town south of here. We rode the train and went for ice cream at this place-Superior Dairy...yum!

And THIS is my homeschool co-op...R.O.C.K........I wouldn't want to homeschool without them. Well, I probably would, but it wouldn't be as fun....

And there you have it....all my blogs for a month, compiled into one easy to read blog.

No more washing every cup I own every day....

I started doing this lately and it has made a huge difference for our family. My kids could never find their cup...they would find A cup that looked like theirs, but they weren't sure if it WAS theirs...so they would get a new one. The result was a dishwasher full of CUPS every night. I have tried a couple of different things over the years, but this one really seems to work! And it's CHEAP...I just used THICK rubber bands to write my kids names on. For little ones you could use a special picture...for my older ones I let them design their own. Now the kids know exactly which cup is theirs, even when they all look the same, the rubber band fits on all different sizes and shapes of cups, can transfer easily from one cup to the next, and if they lose it we just make another one. It also works great for the nursery at church, they always know which cup is Ellie's! And now I'm not washing a dozen cups a day!

Photoshop Elements....

So I finally got Photoshop Elements last week and let me tell you my brain hasn't been excercised this much in years. I have been watching tutorials and browsing web articles all week and I am finally just barely starting to feel like I can manuever around inside it.

These are some of the pictures I took the other day...but I did a little editing with Photoshop Elements...I made them brighter and played around with brightening the eyes in some. I don't think they are as crisp and clear as in photoshop because I had to save them as JPegs in order to download them, otherwise my files were too big. Does anyone know if that's the way to do it?

I can't get enough of this picture of Randy and Ellie...

I made Ellianah's eyes brighter and crisper in this one...

The colors are the main thing changed here...
