So...it started with an ant invasion...we had to take everything out where the invasion was and spray like crazy. It was ugly. Thousands of ant carcasses littered the shelves and walls. I did NOT take pictures of that grizzly scene, I wouldn't want my children to have to relive that...SO, ANYWAY! My mother convinced me that I should re-orginize...(okay, let's face it-ORGANIZE), my pantry before I put everything back in. Here are the results...
These are a few shots of the before...

This is where the invasion was....

And these are the afters...

I really am amazed that I can actually find things now, and I know exactly what I have and can easily figure out what I need!

I purchased the big bins on top for my cups/lids, lunchboxes that rarely get used, etc. It looks so much neater than just piling it all up!

I used chalkboard paint on the shelf faces because I LOVE to label things...Randy thinks it's ridiculous to write canned veggies when you can SEE that they are canned veggies, but I couldn't help myself!

I already had most of my baking supplies in these airtight jars, but I bought some more and I LOVE them...

I also LOVE these new giant cereal keepers. They can fit a whole bag of the off brand cereals that I am now buying...

I bought three identical bins for my plastic spoons, forks, and knives that I use for entertaining sometimes. This is so much better than my costco boxes in various stages of decomposition.

I fell in love with this old fashioned candy jar. And I am determined that one giant jar of candy is MORE than enough for my family.

Now let's see how long we can keep it this way with a family of six...

HaPpY bIrThDaY, RaNdY!
Isn't he handsome? And doesn't look a day over 25...

I had this brilliant idea of having a picnic at the park...except it was FReeziNG...so the boys actually ran around the park WHILE eating to keep warm. NOTE TO SELF: next year celebrate next to a fire!

Ellianah played peek-a-boo with her daddy.

Are you still there?

Randy with his boys....see how they huddle close together for body heat?

Christian absolurely can NOT be near atre without climbing it...

Well, hopefully he had a GrEaT BiRtHdAy, anyway!!!!

New Year's Rant...

I can't believe a whole decade has passed since I filled my bathtub with water and stockpiled food waiting for the chaos of the 01-01-00...and now it's 01-01-10...WOW! Time seemed to pass so much faster as you get older. Maybe it's just that I appreciate each moment a little more than the year before. I'm at that point where I just wish I could freeze time, freeze moments..those precious little things that happen so quickly and then are gone...sometimes forever(my memory isn't quite what it use to be). Which is why I decided to start blogging. My sincere hope is to be able to capture some of those precious memories...forever.

SNOW DAY!!!!
We made one such memory today...we decided to start off the year with a trip to the snow! I have spent the last week outfitting the entire family in all thier new sizes to ensure no one suffers from the dreaded "wet socks"...wet socks can ruin even the best planned trip to the snow. We left as early as we could muster and had a great time. Nicholas of coarse got injured when he decided to sled into a small ravine, but no blood...so he was off again to the top of the hill in no time! Ellianah just wasn't sure what to make of the snow...she liked it as long as she didn't have to actually touch it, or sit on it...One of the things that I really want to work on this year is improving my photography...as the chief picture taker of the family, I really want to capture some great moments. I have been actually learning how to use my camera (3 years after I got it) and it is amazing what you can learn if you actually read the manual! I got some great shots today...
